We care
For us diving is not a job, its our way of life! We care by helping others to become better divers through our guiding, the way we organize our trips and of course in how we teach PADI scuba diving courses and IDC/instructor courses. And as the ocean is our office and our passion we put an effort in to care for her by cleaning up, running shark conservation trips where we educate our divers. We organize AWARE projects to teach both divers and non-divers, young and old, about the importance of the ocean to our world and how we can help her. Plus we support women in diving, empowering all ladies to grow and become divers and explore the world.
If you have any questions or remarks about our projects of care, or you have a great idea of conservation that you would like to share with us, than feel free to contact us.
We care for you!
First of all we care for you! As we teach diving we not just teach you the skills and help you with the academics. We prefer to give you a bigger awareness of nature and teach on an individual level, so that you get what you need to become a better diver.
Personalising teachings
Diving is interesting in so many levels and challenging for all divers as we all meet our own limitations. For one it is buoyancy, the other the struggle with clearing a mask and for the third the navigation might be the biggest challenge. But whatever it is we all encounter limitations and they can be a big challenge. We at deco divers believe that personal attention and personalising teaching will help you to overcome your own limit in a safe and responsible manner. Diving should be more than just being able to handle skills. It should be about safety and comfort in the water while having an awareness of your surroundings, not only to enjoy whatever is swimming around but also to prepare for changing circumstances.
Less divers = more to see
Don’t you just hate it when you are on holiday, diving at an awesome location and other divers are always in front of you or even misbehaving as such that they scare off the animals. Even though we love divers, we prefer not to encounter too many of them under water. Small groups of divers makes it much more enjoyable to explore a reef or gives you better attention as you take a course. Therefore for us at Deco Divers we believe in diving in small groups.
The ocean needs our care
Unfortunately we humans leave a lot of mess behind, mess that gets lost in the ocean. It not only messes up our reefs but loads of plastic waste ends up inside animals, shortening their life expectancy. And knowing that this waist does not easily dispose makes our human footprint on this beautiful planet one that we should erase. if not for the conservation of the ocean and her marine life than at least for our own survival as the waste is now entered the food-chain that we humans are part of,
Luckily the waste problem that we have created is becoming more and more known and more and more people put an afford in to minimize the waste or even help to clean the ocean. Besides educating divers and non-divers through our AWARE courses (see our specialities for more information) we like to bring a mesh bag on almost every dive. And on our trips we may invite you to do a clean-up dive and if you would like to help we offer mesh bags to bring on all your dives. Sometimes we hear the argument that cleaning up by hand will never solve the entire problem. And of course this argument is correct as we cannot dive to all depths and the amount of waste is far too big to do that all by hand. However if we all put an effort in we can make a difference and we would like to invite you to help us.
Shark conservation
Some people love them where others fear them but most of all we humans are depleting the world of sharks, while they are a crucial link in our ecosystems. For us the desire to conserve the sharks started with our founder Ahmed Mamdouh about 13 years ago. Ahmed was seeking every opportunity to dive with sharks and to learn all there is known about them in both the Red Sea and other places around the world. Learning prom pioneers in the field, expanding expertise while developing knowledge and understanding while diving with these sharks.
Where Ahmed seeked every opportunity to dive with sharks and learn about them both in the Red Sea and all around the world. Building expertise in the area and diving with and learning from pioneers and legends of the industry from all around the world. Developing his vast knowledge and expertise understanding and diving with sharks. Ahmed also became an ambassador for shark project, supporting his mission to raise awareness about sharks and educate people about them.
While becoming a Shark Diving Expert he became an ambassador for Shark Project and started to organize trips that focus on sharks and we still do that today. During these trips we raise awareness by giving workshops about sharks. Anything from biology to threats and how to dive with these beauties safely and respectfully will be discussed. If you have any interest in sharks and diving with them, check out our shark trip information or just send us an email.
Project AWARE & Coral watch
Educating and motivating people is the key to a better future for us all when it comes down to conservation and what better way is there than to learn all about it in the PADI AWARE courses or doing a coral watch program. Besides teaching these to our divers we also educate the young ones as part of their traditional education. For instance we teach schoolkids here in Egypt the importance of caring for the ocean and its reefs in special projects called Coral watch, as we introduce them to the wonderful world of diving. After all the children are the future and by educating them we build a path of improvement as awareness of nature, the ocean and their importance for human life is growing.
Would you like to know more about or coral watch programs than please contact us. As for the AWARE courses you can have a look at our speciality page or send as an email.
Girl power in diving
For some ladies the step into the world of diving can be quite challenging and we at Deco Divers like to help. We support women by empowering them to improve themselves and go diving. Our instructors are supportive to the challenges that women may face in diving and our team works to provide a safe environment for all female divers where they feel safe and comfortable to learn something new, explore new challenges, or simply dress and act as they like. If you like to know more about how we empower women, than please feel free to contact us.
